Is there a way to set up the MOTU 828mkii for multiple monitor outs?

I have two sets of reference speakers and I want to switch back and forth between the two sets to check my mixes on different types of monitors. How would I do this with the 828mkii?

The standard way would be to get a dedicated A/B box that you can effortlessly switch from source to source.

Buy if you are sold on doing it through the MOTU box, you could just use another stereo pair of outputs to speakers "B" and select that as the output on your "Master" bus in DP

Examlple:
MOTU outputs (1-2) go to speakers "A"
MOTU outputs (3-4) go to speakers "B"

Hope that helps

A monitor controller would serve you well. I use Presonus Monitor Station with my 828mkII, and it works great. It provides switching for three pairs of monitors (with individual trim), four excellent headphone amps which can be sourced from two stereo buses, and a smooth master volume control. Way better than the little volume encoder on the 828, and way more powerful headphone amps. Mackie Big Knob is another inexpensive controller. They run about 3 bills each, and are well worth the nominal investment.
