GPO4 ARIA Player help (Solved)

On the advice of board members I upgraded to GPO4 and have been generally pleased. My question is about the ARIA player's automation. Every time I start a sequence, the ARIA mixer channels want to default to a particular level, even with no CC#7s in the sequence. I have no idea where this default level is coming from, and the KP2 & 3 players never did this. I know I can plug in a CC#7 at the beginning of the track, but this sort of workaround seems to render the mixer section useless. An automation snapshot doesn't help either. Any suggestions?

I don't have the answer so I'll be watching, too.
FWIW, I've always had the same issue with Stylus and Stylus RMX. I have to insert Controller 7 in the various tracks.
Also (not in front of the studio Mac right now), it seems some JABB-Aria sliders are controlled by #11(?). I could be mistaken.

I think some are controlled by DP's mixer. I'm pretty sure level and pan are, not sure about others. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, cuz I'm not in front of DP right now.

I've experienced odd behaviour with Aria/GPO volume levels, but I never noticed they were going to any specific default level, just not where I expected them. I've done what you don't want to do -- explicit CC#7 messages to keep things under control.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, CC#7 is the fader volume, and no, the DP faders don't control the individual track (channel) volume. I'll report back if I find a solution.

No answer here, either. When GPO moved away from Kontakt I called NI for info. I was told Garritan moved to the Aria player format because it was so much cheaper than Kontakt. I'm not sure it Aria will play in Plogue Bidule, but if it does then you might be able to set some control there. Obviously you'll need PB to try that. I should be playing with the same issues in a week or so. Until then, I may futz with it Monday for you.

I found the solution at northernsounds: Disable the Event Chasing for the offending controller.

To control the sliders in ARIA Player's mixer when ARIA Player is a plug-in under Digital Performer: enable Automation Play for the MIDI track sending output to ARIA Player, then include CC 7 (Volume) messages as desired - for example, one right at the start of your track. There is no need to disable Event Chasing; in fact, you want it on for this when you are starting playback in the middle of a sequence. Note also that CC 1 (Mod Wheel) is used to control dynamics for many instruments in the Finale Default Bank, and seems to be effective whether Automation Play is enabled or not (?). You can see it acting on the "ModWhl(CC1)" control for such instruments.
