MOTU 828MK3 - experts! - Outputs just Stereo-Pairs? Why?

Hi!

Sorry for the following parts with bad english - i'm from austria :)
But here we go:

We have problems using our 828MK3:
There are 8 analogue Inputs on the backside, and therefore fitting 8 analogue outputs.
We wanted to use the MOTU as an "offline" (without DAW) effectprocessor (compressor, EQ) for some of our instruments/vocals (insert cable).

In the MOTU Software CueMix we can actually find 8 analogue Inputs,
but as Outputs we just can find Stereo-Pairs!
That means "output 1-2", "output 3-4".
But this is nonsense if we want to process each instrument seperately!

what can we do?

kind regards,
ulrich, austria

Use the EQ and dynamics on the input channel and pan the mono inputs hard left or right. They'll show up on the the individual outs on the mix bus. You need 4 mix busses for the analog outs 1-8.

Ahhh, i see!

So, the "to-the-left-pan'ed" input will be output 3
and the right-pan'ed will be 4 (as seen for output pair 3-4)?

kind regards,
ulrich

Inside cue mix on the inputs tab you have a choice of mono or stereo inputs which are switched instantly on clicking either of the buttons. There's a video on you tube that you should watch over and over again.
