I'm using MachiFive2 with DP7.12 on a 13 inch 2.53Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro with 7200rpm drive and 4GB of RAM...and when I'm trying to listen to samples before loading them into a keygroup I see the dreaded floating "Beach ball"...It's very annoying cuz it happens quite frequently. It definitely kills the workflow...I thought a computer this speed should be plenty fast enough to handle something so simple...Is anybody out there having similar problem?

Do you have your hard drive setting (system prefs / energy saver) set to "spin down hard drives whenever possible?" If so, uncheck that. Your hard drives will run constantly, but you won't have to wait as much.

I had the "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" unchecked in system prefs/energy saver the whole time...

I'm guessing it's the HD as well. M5v2 with 7.12 on my old G5 is pretty flawless. Might be some disk fragmentation or other access problem.
