CueMix Output channels only as stereo pairs?

Hi folks,

I have a new 828 mk3 together with my old 828 mkII attached vie ADAT, and now I would like to use the Reverb, EQ and Compression on the output channels, before I go into an analog desk. but the output channels in the cuemix console appear only as stereo channels - why is this?

the Inputs are switched to mono, but the outputs cant be changed?! As I want to record dry into my DAW (Ableton Live 8) and son´t use the hardware monitoring of the motu on the inputs I would like to use the DSP of the 828 mk3 on the output channels - but not on stereo pairs!!! can anybody tell me what am I doing wrong, or is this simply not possible??

could it be that the cuemix console is just bad programmed, and this should be possible??

thanks for help & clearing this up.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what Cuemix is. Cuemix, really is just for "LIVE" monitoring. With the system that you have, you have the advantage of monitoring "through" effects without any latency. The Cuemix console only shows your available inputs and all available stereo pairs for monitoring purposes.

If on your DAW you have a mono source that you're recording, you can route the "Output" of that source to a mono output if you like. If it has a "Direct Hardware Playthrough" option, it will still use your Cuemix DSP for zero latency.

okay, thanks for clearing this up.

So CueMix is just for monitoring the Inputs "with" effects and 0 latency, so I could record dry and listen wet??
What if I want to use the DSP Effects in my mix? I think they sound quite good, would that be possible? How could I route my setup so I can use the DSP Effects while recording? This must be possible somehow, no?

Cuemix FX *does* have impact on the way to the DAW...
All input DSP will be applied ...
I had talks with MotU why we can't have dry / wet recording selection,
and MotU answered that this feature ( DSP applied to recording path ) would be a customer request.
But I would like the mono output routing too...

Could be a DSP or DA chip limitation ...
Take care

Yes, dry-wet selection for the input would also be a cool feature. but as I never record "wet" this doesn´t really bother me a lot. I just don´t understand why I can´t use the DSP Effects on the outputs the same way I can on the inputs. this can´t be any restriction of the DSP chip, as it is just a switch from stereo to dual mono!!!
Come on Motu, please hear me!! :( :(

In MotU Audio Setup you can define a default output, that is 'published' to the computer / DAW and can be recorded there ( stereo ) as a mix, incl. all output DSP
Still, it would be nice to have this 2 x mono too... but this is probably an Apple Coreaudio 'thing'

Take care
