Still finding issues but all in all I threw away 7.02 so projects launch in 7.11 but I'm keeping 5.13 around for safety.

Having sluggish behavior when zoomed in at 16ths and sextuplets while editing 8 tracks of grouped drums. Zoom is jittery, and stutters. When selecting, there is a pause before it takes. Anyone else?

Going from 7.1 to 7.11 I've noticed the merging of soundbites, the display of audio immediately after recording, and multi-selecting tracks in the Tracks over-view is noticeably slower. In the case of the Merge function, a single black line appears for a prolonged time, until the proper representation of a soundbite is displayed. The audio will play without a problem while the "black line" appears.
For the time being, I've gone back to 7.1.

This is interesting but for myself, I have only noticed varying speeds as you say when increasing sample or bit rates i.e. more data to deal with = more time processing. I see no difference other than that.

Same here. Can't stand that slow redraw, when editing in front of a client, it's really great !

I agree. The slow redraw of waveforms in 7.11 to me is a problem, especially in front of clients. It certainly makes the program seem less Pro. So I will probably just use 7.1 till this is rectified.

Is the redraw preventing you from continuing with work? You can easily
close the background processing window so you don't have to look at it.

I've been using 7.11 for three months now, doing multiple takes quickly,
sometimes I'll remember "oh yeah, let's look at the background processing
window" and I'll see some waveform redraw activity still going on. But it
has never slowed DP down for me or prevented me from jumping to a new
recording take or anything like that.

Perhaps the redraw is a problem for some, not saying it isn't, but for me
it's a complete non-issue.

It's a problem for people who find it to be a problem. I'm not saying that facetiously. for some it's a problem. Others could care less. Generally, if there is someone standing over your shoulder saying "where's my audio??? Where's my effing audio??? What's the PlaySkool software you're using, anyway?" then it's a problem. Otherwise, you can continue working without worrying about it. Some people need to see the audio before they can continue, and for them it's a problem.

Which group are you in? the new version works just fine as far as I'm concerned, although I have had two crashes, and as everyone knows, I rarely have crashes. So… I think this is not going down as one of the best versions. But it's temporary.

I don't have a big problem with the redraw issue. My beef comes from audio editing and how
with 7.11, and 7.1, there is sluggish behavior. This has always been my biggest gripe with DP. Then came 7.02 which is very responsive under these editing conditions. 7.11 jittery and sluggish. When zoomed in. Would love to have the new features with smooth editing.

I had instant crashes when editing once, doubled my buffers and it smoothed out. No more crashes. Maybe your right and they have to balance the program a bit more, I don't know.
