Prospective MOTU user with a few basic Q's.

I am currently searching for a quality audio interface for use with a Vista 64 OS (with the intention of upgrading in the future). I was wondering if you guys recommend using MOTU hardware with a Windows 64 bit system or should I look elsewhere? So far, the audio interface search makes me lean more and more toward a stand-alone multitrack system. If it weren't for all the useful tools such as softsynths/instruments and amp modelers, I probably would.
