Does anyone have any clue how to route sound from main input (firewire) to a channel other than MAIN? As in, I have a subwoofer connected to channels 5/6 and I would like both main and chan 5/6 to play from the main input. Anyone know how I would go about doing that?

Btw I've read these forums for a while, just decided to join, people on here are very helpful and I'm glad to finally join your community.

You have to do this in your application settings.
In Cubase, for example, you would have to add a bus for outputs 5-6 in the VST connections.
I'm not sure how you could do this so that programs like Windows Media player would work through both sets of outputs.
It would probably be a better solution to find another way, like with the Mackie Big Knob that I use to control my monitors, you could have your monitors hooked up to outputs A and the sub to outputs B, then whatever your feeding through the Big Knob would come out of both, as long as you had them both selected.

I know what you're saying Billy. It works fine in Ableton, I got my sub on channels 5/6 and a Post Master that goes to it. But if it's possible in a DAW, maybe with a little bit of programming it can happen in Windows as well. I don't wanna spend money on more hardware when it is clearly possible to achieve with software...

I understand what you mean, but the Big Knob is pretty cool. I have mine marked at calibrated reference points for mixing to different RMS levels, plus it has a talkback for the studio room and the ability to send 2 different mixes through as well.

You could do it with a loopback. I have my s/pdif out connected directly to s/pdif in (make sure you use a digital audio cable and not a cheap rca). Use the s/pdif out as the software output then in Cuemix you can use up to 8 mixes to assign the s/pdif in to whatever hardware outputs you want. It sucks to have to use up the mixes but it's the only way I've found to get a single mix to multiple outputs (when you can't assign it in software)

you might be on to something here, i have S/PDIF A as a loopback with a decent digital cable. now i can't really figure out what to do with it in cuemix. on the Input tab of cuemix i focused S/PDIF 1/2 which is on Stereo. (i found that if i click mono, it splits in S/PDIF 1 and 2) and what's the difference between S/PDIF A and B on the back of motu there doesn't seem to be one in software. Now on the Mixes tab, I have BUS 1 as S/PDIF 1-2 if i change that to anything else it stops playing, I also unmuted most of the channels to the left of the BUS. My subs are connected to Analog 5-6 but they don't get any signal either way. And on outputs tab I can mess with the S/PDIF 1-2 channel and add EQ /FX to it. I need some help with this cuemix, thanks for the advice so far!
