Hello guys,

I figured you might be able to help me since MOTU's customer support is... the way it is. I'm $750 in the hole right now with an 828 MK3 that doesn't even work. I tried upgrading the firmware from 1.04 to 1.06, their latest version and it got stuck at 35%. Basically what happened is, everything went smooth in the firmware loader, I clicked "Update Now" and at 35% the button appeared again and the device was stuck on that... I can't really find the 1.05 update to try to downgrade because MOTU only keeps their latest update... if anyone has any ideas on this, I would be forever greatful!

My personal experience with the MOTU has never involved in any sexual intercourse, not even phone sex. Others at this forum have have found MOTU responsive to hardware issues. I'd suggest you call the company and explain your situation. I expect (if you are respectful and at all patient) you will ultimately find satisfaction of a different kind than your name currently suggests, namely a working audio interface.

You really think so? Define satisfaction after having to wait 3 weeks with $750 gone.

Have you called MOTU? Best time to get thru is early AM, especially if you are on the left coast. I expect your unit is under warranty. Judging from my experience, and those of others reported here, MOTU will help you even if your unit is out of warranty.

Dude, I feel your pain, but was just relaying an approach you may find helpful, and admittedly taking the opportunity to (hopefully gently) chastise you for your choice of moniker. I apologize if FcuckedByMOTU is your real name, but somehow suspect it may not be.

Think of my name as a homograph. You never took the time to figure out whether I chose my "moniker" in a literal or figurative manner, regardless, you can't chastise the chastiser lol, I do appreciate the effort tho.

And I haven't been able to get through to support yet, that's why I was wondering if someone here has encountered the same issue.

Well if anyone else encounters this problem, it kinda resolved itself, even though the updater and the lcd tell you it's at 35% leave it for a while, it's stuck at that, i left it for about 30 mins and after i shut it off and turned it back on again it said it had the new firmware, but... big bug, scared the hell outta me :\

I won't be as direct as Fcucked but honestly, there are 4 tech people that I have worked with over the phone. Two of them are really very nice, helpful and demonstrate real interest in solving the problem. One seemed NOT to have much knowledge of the issue and one of them ( who shall remain nameless) Is a complete idiot and were I in charge, there is NO WAY he would be a representative of my company. The way he had handled my problem was completely arogant rude and a total waste of time. Enough that I think twice about buying MOTU again, even though I love the product
