Is anyone using DP and Evolve by Heavyocity, I am trying to use it with DP 5 on a non intel mac. I see the Kontakt 2 player in the plugs folder but it will not show up when I launch DP. Any ideas?

Well, you have encountered the dreaded extinct Kontakt2 player
problem.
Kontakt2 player is no longer available, and it cannot be authorized
via NI's website anymore (as far as I know). Furthermore, if you are
on a PPC Mac, you cannot install Kontakt Player 4, which runs on
Intel only.
Here's what you do:
Go here, on NI's website, scroll down the page to "Legacy Products", and download and install Kontakt Player 3.5:
http://co.native-instruments.com/index. ... reeupdates" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Authorize it, then when you launch it, it should be able to find
Heavocity Evolve. You should see the Evolve icon in the left sidebar
listing available libraries. Or you can just navigate to the folder where
the Evolve data is and click on one of the .nkm or .nki files to load
it.
Evolve is not a self-contained VI. It needs a Kontakt-powered host.
Once you have installed Kontakt Player 3.5, you should locate the Kontakt
Player 2 component in your Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder and
trash it, and then search your drive for any application support or preference files related to Kontakt Player 2.

I think the main problem with Kontact 2 is PPC/Leopard isn't it? I think Tiger is the last OS that worked with DP and Kontact 2?

Yes - and NI has officially dropped PPC support, according to their website.

I use the Kontakt 3.5 player with Snow Leopard, and it works just fine. I won't say "great," because I've managed to get it to crash DP on the rare occasion, but actually it hasn't crashed DP 7.1 yet. The only times it ever has caused any problem have been when I was messing with deep settings on it, experimenting and trying a lot of things pretty rapidly. Once everything was set, playback was always flawless. Not a problem.
I haven't tried it with Tiger, but if you can do as David suggested, I think you'll be fine.

I use Kontakt 3.5 and Evolve on Tiger (Intel) inside of DP 6.03 with absolutely no problem (if you install Evolve's library only and have it installed in your Kontakt folder inside of your Documents, it will simply show up in Kontakt 3.5 and above as a library). I never even bothered installing the Kontakt2 player ... not that I could have used it.
