Shoot, it might be worth it, even for those of us who found the on-line audio demos too wet, since there might have been other issues going on with those demos (such as MP3 artefacts) vs. the drum library simply not being amenable to personalized production due to being pre-produced.

And for those who love the Steven Slate demos, this is indeed a no-brainer deal.

Seems like the drum wars are hotting up fiercely of late. I still prefer the interface of BFD to all else, but they seem to be in the weakest position now, with third-party plugs re-releasing in other formats as well. That's probably why they came out with the cheaper Nano edition, to lower the price of entry into that system.

Yeah, this looks pretty amazing and at that price...!

Those into classic rock will probably have less use for this, but 4.5 GB of crisp hard rock and metal drums? 20 dollars makes a lot of cents.

Purchased it from Audio-MIDI.com - got my passcode, user name, serial number and password from Steven Slate...clicked on the download link - "error - you don't have specific priveleges on this server".

Oh well - hopefully Steven Slate tech suppport will figure it out - I sent them an e-mail.

Don'tcha hate it when that happens? :P

I would just give it another day or so before trying again. If you got a note to Steven (or to whomever), I'm sure the issue will be sorted.

I go the error too. Support was very fast in letting me know they'd have it worked out in a couple days.

I've always thought the demos sounded pretty bad, and mostly all the same. But I ended up taking a shot at it for $20. I'm a sucker for a deal.

They told me it should be working by noon tomorrow (Thursday), but I don't know which time zone.

I like the way SD 2 is laid out... you also have each element on it's own MIDI track for import.
I heard these samples and they sound great! $20 you can't go wrong unless you can't get a DL link he he.

Me too. Got a response right away from them, saying that they are doing maintenance on their servers. Guess they're expecting quite a response. Here's the text of their e-mail:

Hello,

We are terribly sorry that your download is moving slowly or not working
at all. Currently, our servers are undergoing maintenance to increase our
overall download speeds and stability. We hope to have our server back to
one hundred percent over the next day or two so we appreciate your
patience. Once the server is back, we can help you with any other
questions or concerns you might have. Also, we will reset your passcode
so your same login information from your order receipt can be used. We
sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for
understanding.

Best,

The Yellow Matter/Slate Digital Team
