storing tracks & routings as a portable snippet?

Is there a way to keep a whole set of tracks, including their lovingly set up MIDI routings, as something that can be brought up in any session without having to save and use the session as a template (and therefore needing the foresight to use that template, rather than, say, suddenly deciding in the middle of producing a track that you want to use your big string setup 
)?
I was hoping i could just drop the tracks w/routings into a Clippings window, but no luck...
