For the life of me can't figure out how to set up my MIDI to where I can play my Yamaha 88 key on MIDI channel 1 using Ivory and then having another MIDI keyboard that is going in USB playing a MIDI channel 2 in Reaktor. No matter what I do, they keep playing the same sampler when I hit record. I don't know how to assign MIDI channels to each keyboard so that I can play synths on one and piano on the other all through DP7. This would help live performances greatly! How can I assign the MIDI channels? I've tried going through my apple system preferences but that doesn't seem to work. I've also tried to look in DP preferences but I can't figure it out. Please help. Thanks.

Easy: in your AudioMIDI prefs, set up the Yamaha to play Channel 1 only, and your other keyboard to play Channel 2 only. in DP, make sure the Record track for Ivory is set to play Ivory 1-1 (and that Ivory is set to receive only channel one, not Omni) and that your synth is set to receive Channel 2 only, then enable Multi-Record. You're not recording either VI, unless you actually want to record them, but you should now be able to play them with your respective controllers.

You actually don't even need DP for this, since you can also just launch your standalone Ivory and your standalone synth simultaneously and, in their respective Prefs, select which controller to use with which VI. Once they're set up in your AudioMIDI Setup, CoreMIDI will recognize them in any app.

The easiest, and again you don't need DP running, is to change the MIDI channel in each of the keyboards. That way you shouldn't have to go into audio/MIDI setup on the computer. Changing the MIDI channel in Reaktor is buried in preferences - it's not in the audio/MIDI setup in Reaktor. And even then it says 'computer keyboard MIDI channel'.

Two things. First you need to set DP to Multi-Record.

You also need to create a new MIDI device in AMS manually and then connect it up to the device that represents your USB keyboard that appears automatically. This second dummy device will then appear in the pop up menu for input sources on your MIDI track.

I've posted this graphic numerous times but here it is again. See how the Axiom and Trigger Finger are connected at the right? That's what you want to do.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my previous post: I meant setting up the controller channels, not the VI channels. Once you set up each of your MIDI keyboards as a MIDI input device inside AudioMIDI Setup, and go into each MIDI device to set up the channels it transmits and receives, and through which interface, this will show up in any VI's standalone GUI or inside DP, since all are using CoreMIDI.
