Windows, PCI-424, HD192, no-go..?

Hi Guys,
I have just moved my music studio from a section of my art studio to a real space that i have worked very hard to renovate over the summer... I am jittery and jumping out of my skin trying to get this Hardware trying to work before clients start showing up, which look to be very soon.
Trouble is, I updated my system from a 1st generation mac pro, to a custom built PC, mostly because a mac system with the same specs would have cost another 3 grand and im working on no budget but pure hope.
So heres the deal, I want to love MOTU because they're local (and i have a loving respect for the quality brains in Cambridge), I still have nostalgia for MOTU as a company (they were a common feature in my dads studio growing up), and a digidesign system with similar specs was way out of my budget even back when i had some dough rolling in.
But holy moly, I'm trying to set this all up and its a nightmare. In the years since i got a MOTU setup, the two times ive had a major problem, and the millions of times i've called the support number, i have only once gotten something other than a busy signal. The tech links are more neglectful than a bored ex-lover, and though i still suspect that there are some quality brains hiding somewhere over there, i feel like a fool wondering why they dont respond to my questions.
(why oh why MOTU, what was it that i said wrong? Is it because the answers to my questions are so obvious you are insulted by my simplicity, and will now punish me with an indeterminate extension of my ignorance? Or are the answers truly puzzling to you, and that is why im stuck at the bottom of the inbox, for you cannot be bothered with the subtleties of compatibility with my motherboard? I almost prefer the latter, it would be less personally embarrassing)
AHH! Sorry for venting, i ACTUALLY came here to ask if anyone else had trouble setting up a PCI-424 and an HD192 on a windows system? ( i am using windows xp 32 bit for the time being). I have uninstall-ed and reinstalled the drivers 4 times now, the last time following the instructions of the one darn tech response link ive gotten in the past 2 weeks (ahem, sorry for the whining). Now the only difference is that although i can now open audio and cuemix consoles, nothing else works.
Is the answer something really silly and obvious? I know it could be. Setup and compatibility are not my strong suites. I truly wish they had a beefier FAQ to offset the skeleton crew customer service.
