MIDI issues with 828 mk2 and OSX 10.6.2 with DP 7.02

Post by corrupted.dll »

I recently upgraded to DP 7.02 on a MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB RAM running 10.6.2 Snow Leopard.
I keep loosing my MIDI functionality on my 828 mk2.
I see the MIDI IN light receiving info but it doesn't trigger the sounds of the plugins.
It worked for a while and then it just stopped working.

After downloading and running again the MOTU Audio Installer it worked briefly but it stopped working after I rebooted the system.

Any ideas?

It's probably the driver?

The same thing happens to me every time I boot up - I have to go into Audio/MIDI, delete my MIDI device(s) and then add them back again - it's been happening since i downloaded and installed the last driver a month or so ago

I haven't had a chance to install the older driver that seems to clear this up but this is the link for it:

I'm guessing this is your issue also...

Thanks Sourgrapes,

I downloaded again the "new driver" from the MOTU site and it seems to work for now. We'll see if it holds up. When I posted earlier the MOTU site seemed to be down and couldn't download anything to try and since I'm 7 hours ahead of MOTU in MA couldn't call them up to tech support:(

I couldn't access/download the link you sent. There seems to be an access/permissions issue.
If there's another way to access the older driver let me know or I can provide an ftp to upload if it's not too much trouble...

sorry about the bad link - below I've linked the other thread where the working driver link was posted originally (second post from the top) - I just downloaded it, so that one works for sure...

Thanks buddy!

I downloaded it!
I will give it a try if the current driver fails again.

BTW - Do you know how to manually remove the current drivers?
