New MIDI Driver at MOTU...do I want or need it?

Post by buzzsmith »

Just saw on MOTU's website a download for a new (January 12, 2010) MIDI driver. Version 1.5.37320

http://www.motu.com/download/download_m ... duct_id=16

I'm not having any issues that I know of...should "we" go for it?

Why mess with success?

If you upgrade your OS, I'd get all new drivers, but if things are working I'd leave it alone.

Thousands of $'s worth of vintage gear currently valued in the dozens of dollars.

Thanks...that's what I was thinking, as well.

any new MIDI driver *MAY* bring a resolution to the hanging MIDI notes issue. if you're not having a prob with hanging MIDI notes, follow SSG's advice. if you are, it's worth a shot.

btw, there's new audio drivers, as well
DP 9.52(OS 10.13.6), PTools 11.3.3, Sibelius 2021.12,
MacPro 5,1 mid-2010, 2 x 2.93Ghz 12 core, ATI Radeon HD 5870, 64 Gig RAM, 4 x >120G SSDs, 2 x 25" LCDs
couple o' hardware synths, loadza legal libraries
Kurz Midiboard, MOTU MTP AV
