Where are you folks setting the input trims in cuemix?
Why would the trim make a difference of actual AD input amplitude?

e.g. while enabling cuemix, if I move the input trim knob, it effects the converter input level too.
Does cuemix input have a unity gain setting, or is it a matter of gain stage calibration? Ihave'nt had a chance to read the manual yet.

This in relation to actual AD inputs, and not in regards to cue monitoring.

I always leave it at the default far left (anti-clockwise) position.
I think it should be normally left there unless there is a reason to add some extra gain to a very low level signal. At the far right (fully clockwise position) it shows as if it gives 3-4db extra gain according to Radar's meterbridge ledbars.
The trim should make no difference to the AD level since Cuemix effects the internal levels of the PCI system (i.e. it is after the AD stage). So the "gain pot" as well as the fader, effect only the output and therefore the DA stage of any output this particular channel has been routed to.
At least this is how I understand it works.

Thats the way I took it also, keep the trim at the lowest settings , but unmuted.

I just started using cuemix to get some experience for when I go mixerless and usually use just the pre's to get a good level.

Last night my levels seemed rather low on a particular track, and had to crank my outboard pre more than usual. So checking cuemix, the trim was at lowest setting, yet on another channel they were set at 9o'clock position, and I had higher input levels. Also changing cuemix input trim effected teh actual input level to AD's. So I decided to turn all cuemix input off(mute), and resulted in no level at all? When I say no level, the interface (MOTU1224 's) channel does have signal, but DP's input monitor has none?

How could this be? Is my monitoring pref's whacked? Input monitoring was set to off.

The mutes above the trim control mute the signal going to DP, and the mutes right above the pan control do not.
I don't know if the trim is pre (analog) or post (digital) ADC, probably the latter, but it does affect recording level.
The meters on the interface (1224) are of course pre-trim.

I pretty much always leave the trims at unity (full CC).

OK, so I'm not going nuts

Actually that would mean , that cuemix actually does cut the recording level even a unity/ CC settings. Without cuemix, my recording level is higher.

Time to calibrate and adjust other levels.

That should not be.
The trims in Cuemix can only add gain. All the way down is no added gain/unity (what comes in is what goes out).

The top row of trims, and any controls associated with that row, affect input. The other mutes, faders, and pans affect output. DP lies in between.

I leave my inputs in their default positions normally.

Agreed, I found another cuemix on my bootdrive that was enabled, which I was not aware of. The input on that cuemix was boosted to about 9 o'clock.
