I bought their stand alone Strobe and it works great.
The AU plug-in versions (which I've not tried) are at the bottom of the page.

Did DP not add a tuner when they went all guitar crazy in 7?

I heard the Peterson strobe tuner for iPhone (which is awesome btw) is also a plugin.
But I'm lazy and can't be bothered using google.

I have the Peterson strobe tuner for the Mac. There are two versions. The cheaper one that I have is only stand alone but it still works fine. They make you pay more to have the AU last time I checked.burn em wrote:I heard the Peterson strobe tuner for iPhone (which is awesome btw) is also a plugin.

Re: guitar tuner plug-in
+1 for Peterson Strobosoft.
I run it in the background as a standalone and my guit/bass inputs are bussed to it.
Very accurate.
The deluxe version is very cool if you wanna get tweaky.

Re: guitar tuner plug-in
Is there a trick to using this? I'm getting wide swings in the result for a string, generally from -30 to +5 without changing tuning on two successive notes with a fair amount of time between them. It's taking a long time to get 3 or 4 successive reads anywhere close to the same note.Tim wrote:http://www.katsurashareware.com/

I've got the standalone and plugin tuners from this company. They do work great, but I have not tried the plugins in Snow Leopard.

Is it getting plenty of signal?
Re: guitar tuner plug-in
Yes, the "meters" are very active and responsive. I've avoided hitting the strings too hard because it creates a lot of resonance and causes erratic behaviour in most tuners. Thought I'd try recording the signal at the same time and see if there are any hints in the waveform.Tim wrote:bayswater wrote:Is there a trick to using this? Re: guitar tuner plug-in
Try turning the tone all the way down on your guitar (cut the treble). Also, try plucking lightly with your thumb over the 12th fret.

Re: guitar tuner plug-in
I'll try the octave harmonics, but it's a classical guitar so turning the tone down is not going to work.666 wrote:Try turning the tone all the way down on your guitar (cut the treble). Also, try plucking lightly with your thumb over the 12th fret.

Re: guitar tuner plug-in
Sorry, I didn't realize it was an acoustic. Just to be clear, don't try to play a harmonic at the 12th fret, just use your thumb as a pick, picking on the 12th fret. The harmonic won't come out too much. This is something studio musicians have been doing for a long time (including myself). Even Peterson recommends it in their manual. Through my various experiences, I've found it to be extremely helpful for "problem" guitars not working with "problem" tuners.bayswater wrote:I'll try the octave harmonics, but it's a classical guitar so turning the tone down is not going to work.666 wrote:Try turning the tone all the way down on your guitar (cut the treble). Hey, it might not make any difference but, it's worth a try...

Re: guitar tuner plug-in
I assume your suggestions are geared towards reducing harmonics. I tried various ways of doing that and it helps. Thanks. But you know -- I can still tune it faster by ear, starting with a tuning fork, and get the meters just as close to the centre frequencies for each string. Do you usually find tuners faster or more accurate?666 wrote:Sorry, I didn't realize it was an acoustic.
