Maybe I didn't use enough search terms, but I couldn't find this new impulse library for ProVerb discussed here.

Also, I fear I am opening a can of worms, as there is an ugly Gearslutz discussion in-progress.

At any rate, this is a 4 GB library of 24 hardware reverb impulses using an innovative new technique.

Originally released for Digidesign's TL/Space, this library will apparently be made available for more impulse response plug-ins once testing confirms compatibility.

I will let people find the GS discussion on their own, as I don't want to add fuel to the fire. I skipped buying an impulse library from another vendor these past few years due to similar concerns.

At any rate, I'm pretty happy with the hardware impulses in Altiverb, but am wondering if anyone has compared those to these new ones from Timbral Research, as a new approach was taken that is said to be superior for reproducing hardware (vs. room) reverbs.

My apologies again if this product is a taboo topic due to the controversy surrounding it.

BTW I only just today became aware of this product due to the ad in Keyboard Magazine's January 2010 issue (which features DP-friendly products, including Euphonic MC Transport).

actually the thread on Gearslutz is one of the most fascinating threads I have ever read there, highly recommended!(new gear section:)
the discussion dwells on the ethics of cloning classic gear.
truly a fascinating read

Their presets employ PT's EQ and Delay/Modulation plug-ins in an attempt achieve a 'hardware reverb' sound.

I've wondered why none of the convolution reverb makers have built randomizers into their plugins... or has someone?
