Syncing Dp and Live without rewire

Would love if anyone could help out with a dilemma.
I am really digging Pod Farm/Gear Box, I already own a POD X3 Live and love that I can pretty much port the sounds I use on my POD X3 over to POD Farm via Gear Box and it cuts down on set up time when I finally want to use those sounds when recording. The Problem......
POD Farm/Gear Box can only be controlled by the POD X3 when in stand alone. As a plug-in though they do not have any MIDI Capabilities (good going Line6). One work around is that through Ableton Live They have a way you can control parameters in a plugin via there software which also supports automation. Great, Thought I had it figured out and it worked great. Went to sync Live to Dp via rewire, what you know as a Slave rewire can't host plug-ins. Back to square one.
I could use Live as my sequencer, but I use a couple of euphonix Mix's and an MC Control, which integrates awesomely and seamlessly in DP. But in Live the control surfaces can only be used in HUI Mode. I am not about to give up the DP integration.
So I was thinking of syncing DP and Live on the same computer probably using sound flower as an input and output to each respectively, but can not figure out how to sync these 2 programs. I am assuming I should then be able to use POD farm in Live with the automation.
As a side note - Already own GR3. I don't like the way my pedal boards support it, and in my opinion POD Farm sounds alot better (more true to the originals, Or at least I get the tones I want) - So that option for me is out.
Thanks for the time.
