Ok, here is the deal.
I´m about to order the Diamond bundle.. I´ve used them for ages but I need the new version so I can migrate to a newer OS (still on Panther) Planning to order DP 7 soon.. so I better be prepaired :)
Anyway.

I wonder what Waves bundles YOU have and use the most?

I´m thinking about adding the Studio Collection, or just the API, SSL or V- series..

Is it worth adding these to the Diamond bundle..is it worth the extra money???

Let me know. Thanx!!

This may not be the answer you're looking for, but I'll try anyway!
I tried the demo of the Studio Collection, and of the three bundles, I liked the API far more than the SSL and Neve. Thick, smooth and very good analog flavor. I thought all of the API plugins were standouts.
I liked the SSL too, for a more aggressive treatment. I didn't care for the EQs as much as the compression.
The Neves seemed subtle, and they never really grabbed my attention as much as the other two, and didn't really offer anything that I couldn't do with what I already have.
I didn't end up buying any of them because I did something else unrelated at the time.

An alternative I've found for the SSL bus compression is the Cytomic "The Glue" compressor. Nice price and fantastic sound. www.cytomic.com

Congrats on the decision to buy Waves! I'm a HUGE supporter of theirs both for my own clients--and my own audio needs. I have the MERCURY + STUDIO CLASSIC TDM bundle which is, in essence, EVERY SINGLE PLUGIN THEY MAKE. The bundles you are referring to, as well as their most recent bundles, are different from their "classic" plugins as I like to call them. With bundles such as the PLATINUM and DIAMOND ONES you are getting more value in that you're getting tons of plugins that are EQ's, DYNAMICS, EFFECTS, REVERB, MASTERING, PITCH CORRECTION, GUITAR AMP MODELING, etc etc.... But wheat you get with bundles such as the API, EDDIE KRAMER, JJP, etc are dedicated to being the best possible plugins for mixing. You get less, but you get more. What I mean is, you're not getting 30-40 plugins, but you might be getting 3-5 insane plugins.

To be blunt---I have roughly $35,000 in TDM plugins on my PTHD rig. I have plugins that I honestly don't know what I have anymore, because I find I use the SSL EQ's on 90% of my tracks, the Vintage Series (NEVE) compressor for most of my main compressors. I used to use a variety of other plugins for that, but I find that the Waves plugins really are some of the best. So really, this comes down to you and what you want.
