Audio track seem to be "clipping" with MPC 2000XL...

Can somebody help me? When I track with my MPC 2000XL the audio appears to be "clipping" or giving a "static" like effect no matter how low I record the track. Why would this happen?

Don't know your gear, but it sounds like a digital clocking issue. I always recommend using Word Clock connections between digital devices whenever possible.
