Hi guys help please, cant find anything in search results.
Running Win 2K on virtually empty PC.
Interfaces; 24i and 2408.
Just installed PCI 424 with latest drivers.
All working OK BUT, on shutdown the system shuts down then auto reboots!???
I can of course hard shutdown by power off, but prefer the normal method, any advice please?

First of all, install at least Windows XP SP2... Please... Windows 2000 as DAW... no.
Second, try updating the drivers for your motherboard or see if there is a BIOS update for your board. You can also try moving the PCI card to another slot if you have an additional slot available.
Third, install at least Windows XP SP2... Please... Windows 2000 as DAW... no.

DJS thanks for your comments.

you would cry, I'm already running W2K successfully on a dual P3-1.2ghz system with 3gb RAM and a PCI-324. Simultaneously recording up to 12 tracks(live) so far with no isssues and CPU @-20%, the small footprint of W2K and its GUI keep it simple, but thats another story
The PCI-424 is supposed to be an upgrade on a dual core CPU. The problem has now escalated ! The recycling has now morphed into a 7 second cycle; 3 seconds power on with fans-4 seconds power down off! No chance of a "safe" boot or from CD or access to BIOS

. Am I glad there's nothing on the PC!!! FTR this happened after I took out the 424 and putting it back makes no difference. I suspect either HD crash or Mobo fried. The quest continues
