Two firewire interfaces?

Greetings,
I'm attempting to connect an 896MK3 and a Phonic Helix board to a Macbook Pro, via the computer's single firewire port. Has anyone been successful in doing this? Both interfaces work seperately, but when I daisy chain them together neither appears in the AudioMidi setup.

You may need to use a Firewire hub.

I just did, it solved the problem. I wonder what the second port is for if it's not going to work...

It works, just not in the way that you want it to. You can daisy chain a fw hard drive, and you can daisy chain two 896's together. I have a G5, so I daisy chained a 2nd DVD burner off my 896, so I could have two.
