Peculiar External Drive and Performer Issue?

I have a strange issue that might be related to DP. I recently purchased two external firewire drives, both Rocstor, one 500gig and the other a terabyte drive. Both have this issue, but I'm working right now primarily with the 500gig drive and what happens is that the drive ejects itself from the desktop. When I reboot it reappears and when I power down the external drive and then turn it back on it reappears. I noticed that this is happening when I am using Digital Performer 6.02. Today, for example, I clicked on Open/File and the drive ejected itself. Odd. What I'm wondering, and I've written to Rocstor and will write to support/DP, is could there be an incompatibility between DP and these drives? Does anyone know? and if so, what can I do about it?

I've run disk utitilty and repair permissions. Disk Utility prompts that the drive is fine which it probably is...but something is off for sure.

Thanks for any help someone can give me!

L.

P.S. I'm running Leopard, 10.5.6, on a 3gigahertz, I Mac, internal drive 1 terabyte, 4 gigs of ram.

I'd like to mention here that I've been working in Final Cut Studio for a couple of hours and the external drive hasn't ejected once. So, I'm pretty sure it's a DP issue. I just don't know what it could be and I've tried looking up on the web, but so far I haven't found anything. Anyone out there know anything about such an issue?

So I guess no one has encountered a problem like this where the software app in this case DP has some compatibility issue with an external hard drive?

It is VERY unlikely that the external drive is being ejected by DP. Either it's a user error, or you can check the Console for a message when it happens...
