I've just purchased this card second hand, and am in doubt if it a setup error or if the guy who sold it to me, sold me something not working.
Im using the card on a Windows XP SP3 platform.
The problem is that the card is sending high pitched distortion sounds out at random.
When watching a movie clip i get fine sound for some time then suddently it send out a sequence of apparently random high pitched notes, followed by the sound being very distorted for some minutes, then new random sounds and its back to normal for some time...
When these random sounds come, the front display shows some weird readings... peaks on MIDI out+ random in/out's lighting up aswell...
When opening it up in logic 5.5 it is impossible for logic to synchronize audio and MIDI...
the sounds apear to be random, but wont come unless i play some audio source through the card.
When i just connected the unit it seemed to work just fine, i heard a few tracks on it without any errors, but after some time it started doing as descriped above...
i have tried:
- rebooting
- resetting the unit to factory default
- setting sample buffer to 256
- hitting the unit (softly however)
Have i bought a defect product or is there a solution?
Motu 828 Mk II (FW) - making random high pitched noises.
