motu 828mkII

Post by fender3 »

I could not find this on the forums, although, it probably is somewhere, but I can't find it. I never had any problems with recording until I started upgrading My dp software. I started initially with the dp4 and have, over time, upgraded to the dp6. Now whenever I record, I am getting static, popping, all sort of noises. I don't know if this is a hardware problem or a software problem. I have had this 828 for over 6 years now and don't know if maybe dust is causing the problem or what. Like I said, I have know idea....I tried blowing out the inside of dust and particles, however, this did not solve the problem. I would appreciate any suggestions.
I have a Mac G5 dual hard drive. I am on Tiger. I am currently using a Kurzweil PC3X Synth to a motu828mkII. I am using the Dp 6 with the machfive2 sampler, waves gold bundle, and altiverb reverb unit. Studio Monitors are Mackie 824s. Rode NTK condenser mic.

my first guess would be to update the 828 with the latest driver if you haven't already done so...

also not entirely sure mkII's were out 6 years ago - anyone know what their release date was?

I've had mine at least six years. Try a factory reset on the 828mkII.

Sounds like your buffer is too low to me.
