MIDI system crash

When I open DP 6.02 I get the message..... DP is unable to run because the MIDI system has crashed. Please quit any programs that are using MIDI and try again. (Core MIDI server quits). I did 2 things before this happened. I installed Synful Orchestra, which required installation on my system drive and I also downloaded the l.a.s.t. mp3 option for DP.
I'm then directed to the internet, where I'm supposed to install the Interlok Extension pkg., which I do and then I reopen DP and it's fine. But I can't turn off my computer without repeating this process every time. I've removed Synful....

Thanks,
Paul

I had this happen a while back. I'm guessing you're on Tiger? I cannot for the life of me remember specifically what the issue was, but I think it had something to do with the display resolution/profiles. Check that your color setting is millions and switch your calibration profile to generic. Restart and reset PRAM. Also, try using a utility like Onyx to clean the system cache and run the pre-binding script if the display stuff doesn't work. I wish I remembered this a little better, because the weird part is the iLok error which had nothing to do with what was really going on.

I'm using Leopard in a 2.8Ghz 8 core Mac Pro.

Then the pre-binding thing doesn't apply, but check the display setting anyway. Also, you mentioned the LAME MP3 framework - have you removed that also?
