I already started a thread over in the OT forum, where this is bound to be moved eventually:

Oh, and that's ULN (for Ultra Low Noise) not UNL.

Even their 2882 is better than the Traveler, IMHO, unless you need high gain mics pres, built-in MIDI, or SMPTE.

I think James allows a bit of DP related info in these thread for those of us, like me who rarely venture out of this forum :)

The ULN-8 has an MSRP of US $5.995.
It'd better be better.

Heck at five dollars 99 and 1/5 cents I'll take 2.

If I read this right the SMPTE timecode doesn't eat up a mic input either.

Correct. There's dedicated 1/4" SMPTE I/O on the back panel.

A quick check of the Orpheus web page show some significant differences: the ULN-8 has 8 mic pres compared to the Orpheus' 4, and more DSP, including the full set of plugs from the +DSP models.

It's just not worth that kind of money...not even close....I don't care if you saw Jesus when you powered it up..it' NOT worth it....BTW, I love my traveler..hasn't failed me yet. I just can't believe those thieves trying to fleece us for a silly interface...they should be ashamed of themselves.
