MOTU and Discus 4.23

I'd guess that a lot of you, like me, use this nifty little program (Discus 4.23) to label your discs for delivery. After I bought a new Intel Mac Pro the software started crashing within a few seconds of launching. I had quite a few emails back and forth with Edward DeJong, the software's author, before we found the problem. I have a couple of 2408Mk3's and a 424 card. Discus has a set of (annoying) sound effects to accompany key strokes and mouse actions, and these are something like 8 bit samples. These sfx are what cause the program to crash when the mac tries to reconcile them with the 424 interface. The solution turned out to be: going to the Audio/MIDI control panel, switching back to the mac's internal audio i/o, then open Discus, go to options and turn off the sound effects. Then you can go back to the Audio/MIDI control panel, switch back to the MOTU 424 card and everything from there out works like a charm.
Maybe not a big deal, but some of you may appreciate this solution as much as I did.
