Anyone using Time Machine?

Prior to getting a Mac Pro with Leopard I have been using SuperDuper for backing up. Should I be using Time Machine instead?

It's not only saved my butt, but also has come in handy for bad plists and a bunch of other things (corrupted files and such). Just a couple of days ago I deleted about 5 years of emails. Time Machine had them back in a click.

Does it affect the performance while using DP?

I'm using Time Machine, but I only turn on the TM hard drive when I want to back up, usually once a week, or after I've created some important files I really want to back up immediately. You probably won't want to back up to TM while you're working with DP, or any other program that needs a lot of CPU, access to hard drives or firewire bandwidth. Backing up overnight is a good way to do it.

Does it affect the performance while using DP?

TM has virtually no impact on performance. Zero. None. I keep it on all the time w/o issues.

I use it, I have one of my internal 1TB drives for it. IF I ever start to fill all 4 drives I may get an external drive.
Two times it has restored some thing that I messed up and went back to an early copy.
