I have a MOTU Ultralite. I noticed something weird today. It seems like the brightness of the LCD display is fluctuating. Kind of like what happens to a light bulb when there is an electricity surge.
It's on full brightness for a few seconds, then it goes from full to dimmed a few times, repeating very rapidly, and then it stops at either dimmed or full brightness, and then it keeps doing that.

I checked the wires on the Ultralite and my PC, but everything seems to be connected fine. Could it be that my Ultralite isn't getting enough power?

I have an Antec Basiq 500W power supply, and I have a Radeon 4350 graphics card in my PC. That's pretty much it.

Try using the UltraLite's DC power supply. If the problem still happens when the power supply is connected and you're reasonably sure that the power supply is not malfunctioning, then the problem is probably not power fluctuation but the interface itself.

This is happening to my Traveler as well.

If you're lucky it might be the internal Power Supply.

If not the LCD is defective.

In both cases you should get the unit repaired by the MOTU service people.
