ULTRALITE Mk3 - output to loud from pc

The output of my Ultralite Mk3 is too loud from my pc. Playing a CD or a WAV file through Windows media player, or a web site with streaming audio, it needs to have volume set almost to zero to avoid blowing my monitors. Windows Meia player for example has to be set at volume of just 8, to be comfortable volume. This is with the monitors at 25% of their power.
I am also using Soundforge and have set this at about 25% volume for monitoring.
But if I put a CD in to play, or go to a web site that plays audio, I am going to blow the speakers becuase I do not have the chance then to adjust the volumne until the sound comes out.
how can I prevent this happening by setting my Ultrlite Mk3 to play PC sounds at a lower default volume?
I am using Windows XP pro.

That is because you need to check the MONITOR button in cuemix console on the OUTPUTS tab. Then you'll be able to control selected outputs level with the main volume knob on the interface or MONITOR LEVEL knob in the cuemix console. If not, the maximum level (+4dB) will be present on the outputs. That knob will be the master level no matter what - nothing will go beyond that level - but only on the outputs with the selected MONITOR button...

There should be a big giant flashing sign for that "monitor" button... holy shiz, do not accidentally hit that button during a gig! better yet, a way to "lock" the button, because I think once you're all set up for any given situation, 93% of users have no reason to change that.

Even with the "Monitor" button selected I have this problem. I have set things so that for my synth, with the monitor button selected, the sound is just about right. But, if I go to a web site with streaming audio, it still is too loud. If I take the default volume (in Cue Mix) down enough so that web site audio is an acceptable level, then my synth volume is too low, even at maximum volume.
Any ideas how to solve this situation?
