I had such remarkabkle problems using hte new MOTU firewire/USB2 drivers in my 896HD at MANY things had gotten turned around and shaken up. I need to try to restore my windows drivers to make the typical Windows sounds and play things like iTunes and YouTube stuff. THIS was happening thru my 896HD as well but then it all went bad. I finally have the 896HD working again. Turns out it was a bad firewire cable. I THINK that IF I can modify the registry and add the name of the 896 wave driver to wavemapper.....I should think it would do its' thing again....?

If you open your Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio, you should be able to select your MOTU from those lists. You may have disabled them for the Windows sounds while troubleshooting other problems.

If MOTU is not an option within this dialog box or its tabs, then you should be able to re-install the MOTU drivers from within this same dialog box.

If that doesn't work or is not an option, then you may have to uninstall MOTU drivers and re-install.
