WORKING:

MOTU ULTRALIGHT MK3, VISTA x64 w/SP1

Shuttle XPC -Intel and Ti 1394 controller / Q6600 ; 4GB RAM.

Semi-Caveats:

- The connectors on the supplied FW cable from MOTU were not good on the PC side...way too loose. I wrote them about that and then I used the one I had from the Alesis MM8.
- Should have installed SP1 prior to UL drivers. Windows installer version gave me fits.

Overall:

- The quality and sound of this box is just like an awesome dream -you know, the one where no one wakes you up to show you problems with your audio gear and your PC.
- I've had loads of PC based audio gear and this is the most rewarding, bang for the buck box yet. Outstanding job MOTU engineering team.
- The CUE MIX on onboard dynamic, EQ, and reverb is just too slick for words, so wow! All very high quality for the money.
- My frequency hearing is very good. My ears tell me that this box has some very high quality converters. That's all I can say really about that.

Read on if you're bored:

A couple of years ago, I had a previous UL that crackled badly (drivers?) and took it back within 3 days so I was really uneasy of MOTU on Vista x64.
But last week, I was determined to torture myself with x64 Vista since I already spent money on the hardware right and so that meant a new audio interface since Alesis doesn't want to mess with x64 drivers -pissed me off a little.
I've only been using the UL for a few hours but it is pretty easy to use.
Oh, keep your speaker volume down until your sure of every level setting! That monitor button is a speaker killer

Hope this helps someone as I didn't see too much on the internet about this great piece of gear on x64 Vista.

Dont you have shifted outputs - you know, when you route signal to 1+2 it appears on 3+4 outs? That is the issue with newest 3.6.8.1400 drivers...

I'll be honest, I've used this for listening and playing guitar with the fantastic on board reverb.

Not too much into recording these days. Primary purpose of my purchase a was a x64 listening box.

I'll try and see what you mean though.

Hello MOTUneers!
I am a new user of Ultralite Mk3 with CueMix. I want to add some compressor/limiter/EQ to the recorded signal but just can't figure out how to do that.

Help, anyone?
