When I go to control panel, then sounds and audio devices, under the volume tab, it says "No Audio Device," and I can't control the output volume to my speakers. The only way I can control how loud stuff is when using winamp is by using the volume slider, and the only way i can control how loud youtube videos are is by using the volume slider, and the only way i can control Nuendo's volume is by using the main output knob.

I opened the cuemix console and turned the analog 1-2 slider all the way down and the volume level doesn't change through the speakers at all.

Is there a way i can go on the motu itself and turn down the output volume or something?

What should I do?

I don't know if there is any direct option for controlling the output. Does it have a +4, -10 dB switch [I don't think it does].

1] Maye use the monitor function? This can be turned down. Not sure it will work.

2] My suggestion, however, is to use a trick that I have found works on a number of things, not sure why MOTU doesn't make this a standard function. Anyway take the following steps:

a] Set your main output to SPDIF1/2.
b] Connect an rca jumpber wire between spdif out and spdif in on the back
c] Open up cuemix and set up a mix that unmutes the spdif on the input side, and sets an output to whatever you want your normal output to be. Then either the spdif input fader and/or the output fader will work just fine.

Hope this helps.
