Hi, I'm guessing that this question has already been answered, but I've spent the last 3 hours on forums and I'm still non-the-wiser.

I own an 8Pre, and I want to know how to 'daisey chain' to an addition 8Pre. Do I simply connect the second unit with a FW cable? Is there anything that I need to do in my sequencer host? (Cubase 4).

Also, I understand that I can daisy chain up to FOUR 8pres. Does this mean that I can have a totall of 32 XLR/Jack inputs? Great - if so, but what is the the reason daisy chaining is limited to four 8pres? (Not that I can see me using 32 inputs).

Lastly, is there any known obvious problems that I might encounter when daisey chaining addition 8pres?

Seriously appreciate any help, and MOTU my money is waiting....

theoretically that is how it is done however the real task is far more complicated ,but suffice it to say it is work. If you are basing a business on the prospect tread carefully here. People who have to rely on their multiple motu units usually resort to adat connections which means you lose half your channels capacity. I have been told daisy chaining MOTU units is not possible more than once by very experienced DAW builders. (the do not sync) Still, with the instructions at the link below I was able to get mine to work on the system I've tried it on. Are you willing to take that risk? read it first
