Greeting MOTUNATIONITES!
After spilling a fine glass of Brandy on my laptop's keyboard I had to buy a new laptop (go figure). I am currently attempting to get my home studio back up and running with my new cpu which runs Windows Vista Premium Home 64bit (before I was using xp). While installing the 64 bit driver for usb/firewire (downloaded from the MOTU website) i got an error message:

"Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support or package vendor."

Needless to say, the installation was a failure. Now I can neither reinstall nor uninstall with out the same error message popping up. If anyone has had any experience with the same problem, I would appreciate any wisdom imparted on how to resolve this issue. "HEY MAN, I JUST WANT TO GET BACK TO RECORDING!!!!!!!!!" Thanks.

Right-click on the SetupAudio installer program and select "Run as administrator."

I don't know if it is or not, but I've encountered that problem before and that's how I was able to get it to work.

Thank you so much for this post. I had the same problem. Why don't they tell us these things?
