Compressors like the DBX 160A or Distressor or Mic Pre or MIDI Keyboard to the Motu? Do I need a seperate Mixer or Patch Bay?

Depends on what you want to do and what MOTU units you have.

If you have enough analog inputs and outputs then you don't necessarily need a mixer.

Motu 828 MKII. I want to connect 2 Compressors, a Mic Pre, and a MIDI Keyboard.

You're good to go then. Just make sure you used balanced cables with TRS connectors.

Just connect the input(s) of the compressor to one of the outputs of your MOTU and the output(s) of the compressor to one of the inputs of the MOTU unit. Then setup your sequencer to use that busses for the compressor. A synth can be connected to two inputs of the MOTU unit. The your good to go.
