PCIe 424 card ?

On a Mac Pro do you put it in a PCIe 2.0 or a PCIe 1.1 slot?
Even the narrower-bandwidth-style slots are just fine, Tom.
If you calculate the maximum numbers of simultaneous audio ins and outs possible with your gear and roughly determine the throughput required according to the 10MB/minute for stereo 44.1/16 bit (multiply by 1.5 for 24 bit) formula, I think you'll be amazed at just how much bandwidth would still be available for the card. Without doing any math, it wouldn't surprise me if your theoretical max barely registered in these terms; it could well be 10% or less of the slot's capabilty.
FWIW, I used the lower-specced slot for my card, just in case the faster one is needed one day, and I'll be running around 40 simultaneous inputs live while I mix.
