Im a new MOTU 828 MKII owner as of this week, and im thinking about building a DAW around the MOTU. What motherboard/cpu/memory combo do you guys recommend? I have about $500-$600 to spend. Also i've heard I would need a TI Chipset for the Firewire? Where can I buy that from and is this it?

i would recommend using this instead http://www.adstech.com/products/API-315 ... id=API-315 as a firewire card. i heard that combo cards (USB + FW) are not so good when used with firewire audio interfaces..

exactly, the link is opening for me thou.. and it has a TI Chipset, at least it solved some issues for me..

- p5q-e - I use with Ultralite mk3. xp 64 and 8gb ram. runs like HELL

424 ? or 324 pci card?

i had a 324 and a mk2 2408 didn't work on any new motherboards asus or gigabyte.
might be obvious to some but others beware
