Waves has released update 2 to Version 6, which now supports surround in DP and Logic - amongst other AU enhancements.

Does that apply to all bundles?

Check out Waves website - there's AU enhancements for most plugs and the surround support is, of course for the 360deg plugs which had previously not been supported in DP or Logic.

I believe DP6 supports sidechain, yet Waves says sidechain for SSl Channel and comp is not supported.

Waves lack of support for sidechaining in DP is a longstanding issue which I discovered AFTER purchasing the Renaissance Maxx bundle a couple of years ago. They listed side chaining as a feature of some of the plugs in that bundle (eg, Renn channel), but neglected to say that it didn't work with DP. Really lame. I recall exchanging emails with Waves and MOTU to find out why, and each side blamed the other. Later I read a statement from another software developer saying that DP's implementation of AU support is 'top notch', which makes it look like Waves is to blame.

While the news item at Waves' web site says the Renn comp now supports sidechaining, I installed the latest update and still don't see it in DP 5.13.

Waves just replied to my support email and said that sidechaining, where available, is available in DP 6 only, not DP 5.

Edit: Sure enough, I checked on my laptop, and the sidechain does appear in the Renaissance Compressor in DP 6.01 after installing the Waves update.

I've trashed DP 6 on my main work computer, so until (and if) MOTU improves DP 6, I won't be able to take advantage of the Waves update.
