Hello Boys and Girls, newbie here!

I'm gonna be using my 828mk3 live with a laptop for lots of backing parts from Ableton, and some live keyboards so I need to connect it to the stage box to FOH. Therefore I am gonna make up some TRS jack to XLR leads, then plug these into the XLRs on stage. I'm slightly worried though as the stage box may well have 48V Phantom power on it to power other mics on stage. Will my 828mk3 mind having 48V put in it's outputs or will it pop? Is there anything I can do?

Anything else I should know about plugging the 828mk3 into the stage and using it live?

Use a DI.

behringer (as horrible as they are) do rackmount DI boxes for pretty cheap (compared to buying lots of DI boxes). they're not too bad either.

I do this all the time. The 828mk3 will be fine, even if phantom power is hot. If the FOH console faders are up, there will be a pop while connecting, but that is an issue for the engineer. Make sure you are using a real TRS to XLR snake. Pin1 = Sleave; Pin2 = Tip; Pin3 = Ring. Also, TRS connectors pull out easy - so make sure you secure the snake to the rack that the 828 is in. I normally use a couple zip-ties to the rear rack rails.

The advantage to using DIs is that you have ground-lift options. However, you are likely taking a strong line level signal and dropping it down to mic level to travel down the snake. Also, you are going through a transformer, and you loose some low end - especially on the lower-cost DIs. I personally prefer to keep everything at line level and I carry some in-line XLR ground-lifts with me.
