Wow... this might be the time to jump for Black Bass. I'm thinking Amped 1 might be the ticket.

Also on the home page I noticed that the developer's wife is fighting breast cancer? I wish him and her both the best... that's gotta be tough.

James, I have red bass, and based  on that, you won't be sorry. Be sure to check out the demos, whole line up for BB.
I'm thinking about KGB or at least CEP.

Just got the Classic EP download...awesome. I am a true snob about rhodes sounds and this one is on the money! Price is right too.

I forgot to post this sale, so am glad someone else got around to it in time.

Very sad about Thomas Scarbye's wife. Not sure if it's a good idea to send a sympathy note, or if he would just be inundated with emails that way.

I have everything he sells already, except the amped versions of Black Bass. I'm still debating, since they're actually re-amped versions of the DI library vs. recordings of an amped bass, whether it's worth it vs. using amp modeling plug-ins.

Hmmm... hadn't thought of that. I listened to the demos and Amped 1 sounded like it would fit best for most of my own uses, so I ordered the download version tonight. I was hoping it was instantly downloadable, but it's not. I can't complain... it says within 24 hours on the web site, but I didn't notice it and was eagerly awaiting starting that 1.2GB rar download. :) I sure hope the instructions for what to do after unpacking that rar file are simple enough.

I'm wondering if there's some holiday over in Europe right now, because normally I get fast response from all of those vendors, but this weekend I have gotten no response at all from five separate vendors!

Of course, in Thomas Scarbye's case, he's got a lot to deal with right now, so that might explain your delay.

I downloaded it! I guess I'm stupid though as I thought I could open this with KontaktPlayer2 but I can't for some reason. I have VI ONE and KontaktPlayer 2.2.4 that came with it and I see VI ONE appear automatically when I open Kontakt Player 2, but it won't let me open the BlackBass nki file. I get an error when I try. I supposing I have to own Konakt in order to use Black Bass that I just bought?

It's always something... the $55 purchases tend to reveal something else I need... sigh...

Okay... it's late, I'm going to bed. Best I can tell is I screwed up. I bought the Black Bass Amped 1 for $55 thinking I could open it with KontaktPlayer2 that came with VI ONE. Wrong! So, if I want this to work it looks like I have to BUY the Kontakt3 upgrade (no mas Kontakt 2) for $279!!! So for not paying attention I have a $55 sampled bass instrument "bargain" that will cost me another $279 bucks to use. Which of course I CANNOT do right now, so I should've taken the $55 and chucked it into the street-- at least for the time being until I can afford to pop for Kontakt3.

Yeah... I'm usually so good at reading the fine print. I actually was able to open the nki file in MachFive 2 whereby I played one note that sounded odd and DP 6.01 crashed. Can't win for losing.

Found a $239 crossgrade online with free shipping. Put it on plastic. Just more debt. My $55 modest treat for myself tonight ends up being an almost $300 blood-letting... LOL. I'm swearing off sample/plug-in deals for good. Any more great deals like this (where I don't pay attention) and I'll be broke! :( :D

a couple of questions:
1)does anyone know ,if you already have Red bass(as upgrade ) does that qualify for a Black bass as a crossgrade?
2)my G5 mac is in the shop my assumption ,if I want to purchase Black Bass I should be able download to my old G4 and burn to CDR and load to my G5 when I get it back from repair................is that correct?

I hope Mr. Scarbee's wife has a full recovery ,very tough dealing with family health issues as well as business at the same time.

thanks
KG

I think we should support him during this time. Buy Scarbee stuff as a measure of support. Wife with cancer is a tragedy I hope to never experience!

[I just got married.]

Man. I guess everybody does something stupid sometime and I sure did. My story doesn't end there though. I wrote to Scarbee on the hope that they might refund me, but I figured it unlikely since it's an uprotected sample library. I thought it was such a long shot that I had ordered the crossgrade to Kontakt 3 (which I really couldn't afford to do right now). Well.... I got an email from Thomas Skarbye himself saying that he understood and he would give me a refund and just delete the files. Now THAT is incredible. I was able to get a hold of the retailer I placed the Kontakt 3 crossgrade with and cancel that too.

So there... the details of my embarassing impulsive jump. I thought Kontakt Player could play these instruments but I guess not. And I suppose if we want reasonably priced sample instruments, it's less expensive if the company selling it doesn't have license KontaktPlayer3 from NI.
