I need some cheap (Avg. consumer) speakers for computer refs

I have some decent studio monitors (KRK ST6), but want some AVERAGE CONSUMER type computer speaker and ipod docking speaker so that I can hear what the Avg. non audiophile person will be listening to. What do you recommend for computer speakers. I was looking at the $49.00 JBl and others in the similar price range but I keep getting caught up in the pluses and minuses of the customer reviews (like the speaker volumes aren't evenly match, there is interference from the computer monitor etc...) and can't make a decision. I just want to blindly go purchase. Does anyone have any suggestions for a consumer popular computer speaker. Someone told me about a single speaker like the Auror tone that Apple makes but I can't find it at their store. Also I was sticking to the lower price range because I thought that would be the price most of the under 30 years old crowd would be listening to for music.
