DP6.01 Bounce to CD problems

I've been making lots of coasters using DP's Burn Audio CD feature, and I don't know if the problem is me or the program. I've got about a dozen 30-40 minute AIFF files, and I want to convert each one into an audio CD. Each file is one live performance, so I placed Markers for each track change and selected "Base CD Tracks On: Markers" in the Bounce to Disk options. I also selected "Save Titles As CD Text".
The problem is, at the end of the burn when it does the verification, instead of displaying "Verification successful" or wording similar, it says "Burn failed with an error". When I play the resulting CD, all tracks play fine until the end of the last track, at which point it plays a loud white noise blip.
Of the dozen or so AIFF's which I've Bourced to CD, only two (I believe) verified without error.
Things I've tried, but have not helped:
Slowing the SuperDrive from 32x to 24x.
Chopping the audio file up into contiguous soundbites and changing the bounce option to "Base CD Tracks On: Soundbites"
Turning off "Save Titles as CD Text".
Including/Excluding the Conductor track in Bounce selection, thinking it may be connected to reading in the Markers. Silly, I know, but I've been grasping at straws.
Am I missing something?
