Hello, everyone! My name is sam and im new to the board.

Anyway, im really interested in analog summing and id really like to give it a go. Just one question: Are the MOTU 24 I/O's converters up to the job? Im getting conflicting views and figured where better to ask then here.

My take on this: Unless you have excellent DA conversion, and an outstanding analog summing box or mixer, you're much, MUCH better off summing ITB. What summing box were you thinking of using?

Regardless, I don't think the MOTU 24i/o is up to that particular job - it's a great box for the price, but getting 24 ins and outs for that kind of money only gets you so much audio quality.

Im sorry, i guess i should have elaborated a bit more. I will be using an old Ramsa 8616. i would only be summing on certain occasions though, for more of the effect of an analog feel. Also, would i need to worry more about the D/A or A/D with such a setup?
