2 Issues im having with the 828mk3 firewire

Hi guys
Has anyone actually worked out how to stop these damn squeals and audio drop outs..Ive been getting it ever since i bought the mk3 which was months ago now. It really interupts the workflow....Im running a purpose built pc from Inta-Audio with windows xp...Every now and again i get audio drop outs, hi frequency crackling, im scared incase its a fault with the product..
Also, i cant seem to work out how to do the v1.06 update, i downloaded the driver and followed the instructions but it just wont do anything when i try to run it. Im on v1.01 at the moment..
Any help would be most appreciatted>
