Let us know if the UAD-1 issue is resolved. That's what's keeping me from upgrading. Thanks!!

Thank you for the heads-up, maxpatch. Looks like quite a few areas have been addressed.
Even though I expressly asked the boss of the Australian wholesaler not to post my copy to me until 6.01 arrived, I've just received two mangled-up books (the manuals) and the install disks in the mail. Not only did this cost me Monday and Wednesday's sleep (courier woke me but left too quickly, then revisited 2 days later... at 9:00AM - bedtime!), but said manager insisted it was highly unlikely that 6.01 would be released on disk. After much argument, he agreed to hold out (I've already paid), but the package arrived 2 working days later. Aaarrrggghhh!
I may call the office on Monday and request it retrieves my unwanted copy and waits for this version to arrive. Posting it in a box of some sort or at least with a measure of physical padding might avert another disaster such as the manuals I have before me. Yikes!
Can't wait to hear how 6.01 works out for my fellow DeePeeps. Thanks again man.

Nicky... do you know anybody who could download the updater via high-speed for you? I know your problem the lack of broadband connection. It just seems you might be better off to go ahead and install 6.0 for the key disk, etc. then somehow get the download updater. Maybe one of your Aussie bretheren might download the updater for you and post a CD to you. Seems like in this case, that wouldn't be unreasonable.

Thank you for your kind thoughts, James. I've already started the download (registration must be automatic I guess), and as long as it allows me to resume tomorrow, I'll be fine.
My prime motivations for seeking the swap with the wholesaler are the fact that I was laughed at and my request ignored (even though it was agreed to by the boss), leading to much unanticipated loss of sleep, and that the manuals have arrived in a very sorry state; the heavily crumpled corners of both books are at the very least an eyesore and a distraction.
Further, I'd estimated to the fella that 6.01 would be shipping within 2 weeks or so, in response to which he laughed out aloud. That was 8 days ago.

I was confused for a bit there, didn't realize I had to replace the dock icon so it was 6.01
The track inspector is a fantastic addition! Makes comments much more useful.
If only it at a mini-mixer

That is so unacceptable, it makes me want to fill a whole post with angry, crude language (I can still think it, though

).
At the very least, Nicky, I would write a hard copy letter to MOTU headquarters stating the facts of the situation.
I'm sure MOTU doesn't want their distributors treating their customers that way, and there needs to be some accountability.
But don't write it when you're too angry. IMHO, the facts will speak for themselves.

Digital Performer 6.01 is now shipping. If you own Version 6.0, you can download the free Version 6.01 updater. This maintenance release includes numerous program enhancements and optimizations, including the handy new Track Inspector, new preferences for running plug-ins in real time, enhancements to Final Cut Pro XML interchange, improved on-line help, new shortcuts for configuring info windows and info bars, and many other program improvements and optimizations.
A great start !!

A number of my important plug-ins are still toast, and I still can't read parts of the interface. (And I had my eyes checked by my opthamologist three weeks ago).
O.K., fellas, that was a funny one.

Now go ahead and release the *real* 6.0.1.

I looked at Motu yesterday and saw nothing new.
Wow, thanks guys. I'm going for 6.1 now.

Just a thought--
Keep your eyes peeled for updated audio and MIDI drivers over the coming days. It's not that I know for sure that they are releasing new drivers, but sometimes they release all sorts of things without fanfare.
