AAF/OMF import to DP6

I have a reliable crash when trying to import any digidesign(PTHD 7.4.2) exported AAF files. Same for OMF. I have the latest Digitranslator. HAs anyone met this problem?
Frustrating as I have just returned to DP and want to use it as a front end to PT hardware.

Hey Lumpo I have also PT 7.4 LE and Digitranslator. I tried saving an OMF and AAF from DP6 and then opening it back up in DP 6 and it crashed. I also tried from PT and it did the same thing

Ah. Glad to see it's not just me.
How do we notify MOTU of this? It's a real show stopper if files can't be easily exchanged.

I did crash when Importing BUT, when i opened a standard DP template and then opened the OMF, it worked.
Why..I have no idea.
I proceeded to repeat the process on three different OMF files.

Hey Lumpo I opened an OMF in my wifes computer which has DP5 no problem. I asked a friend with DP5 and he had no problem. Only on my computer it did not work. Just a shot in the dark, I have ProTools, you also have ProTools installed. My wife and friend do not. I wonder if there is something there? I may be way off but I am trying to trouble shoot this. If any one else out there has the same problem and has those 2 programs installed.

It has been my experience as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes DP just crashes. Going the other way (exporting out of DP into PT) always works, 100%.

Is this with version 6.01 as well? Just a suggestion, but it may help all of us on this board troubleshoot if we can be specific about DP version numbers when posting about issues. Thanks!

Yeah James I have the problem with 5.1.3, 6.0 and 6.0.1 When I bring a OMF into PT from DP no problems.

I also have PT 7 installed, is this a pattern here???

and yup, no problems what so ever the other way around
what I've been doing is, consolidate all tracks from "0" and throw them one by one to a DP template, is working though, I just hope this bug is sorted on DP6.01

I don't have PT and it doesn't work for me either… bummer! I love the program, but i need omf/aaf compatibility, which obviously isn't there - no matter what motu does say.

DP crashes opening OMF from logic too
